TRANSPORT IS APPROACHING TO THE DIGITAL ERA Transport is one of the industries where digitalization and, in particular, 5G technologies can lead to a serious effect. This could be seen at the Intelligent Transport Systems of Russia forum organized by the Digital Era of Transport Association, which was held for the fourth time in Moscow on September, 25-26. The forum, which has included a regional component since 2017, has become a key platform in the country, which traditionally gathers customers and suppliers of solutions in the field of digital technologies in transport, provides opportunities for discussions, exchange of experience and consolidation of efforts.

This year, the 7th All-Russian Conference on Fiber Optics was dedicated to the memory of the founder and permanent chairman of the ARCFO Programme committee – academician Yevgeny Dianov, an outstanding scientist in the field of fiber optics, laser physics and optical materials science, the creator of the Fiber Optics Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Since that time to our days scientists and specialists of the institute have carried out scientific support and development in the field of one of the most successful areas of Russian telecommunications – the production of fiber optic cables and fiber.

COORDINATED UNIVERSAL TIME SYSTEMS: CAUSES OF ERRORS DURING PROLONGED USE OF EQUIPMENT AND THEIR ELIMINATION Optimization of time signals transmission procedures and their binding to the unified time system is to a large extent connected with solving the problem of time reference errors during long-term use of an equipment. The use of new methods of error correction allows reducing the errors of time signals to tens of nanoseconds, providing higher accuracy of measurements of various measuring instruments.

The architecture of the solution is described according to data transfer, management and administration. It is noted that transport infrastructure modernization is inevitable because of new challenges in radio access network.

CALCULATION OF CRITICAL INDUCTION OF A SMOOTHING FILTER INDUCTOR. PART 1 A formula is derived for calculating the critical inductance of the inductor in the smoothing filter of a pulsed secondary power source with taking into account the length of the cutoff ("dead time"). The inductance is calculated based on the spread of the input supply voltages, the output currents of the load, and the pulse repetition period at the filter input.
