The features of the assessment and the issues of increasing the efficiency of FOCL are considered. The indicator of economic efficiency NPV is proposed as an evaluation criterion. Modern network operators, content and service providers must comply with the security requirements that govern the management and protection of sensitive data from disclosure, theft and misuse. The amount of sensitive data generated by companies and private users is steadily increasing. Traditionally stored and processed locally, data is now transported over shared network resources, often through the global network. The widespread use of virtual objects and cloud networks creates new threats of network vulnerability to external attacks. Security is one of the most important benefits of 5G, which will serve as a critical infrastructure for digitilisation, automation and connectivity to machines, robots, vehicle control, etc. The paper considers the security and protection of sensitive data in the provision of telecommunication services based on 5G networks. The first part of the article focuses on the topic of international standardization of telecommunication network security.
