A MANIFESTO FOR THE NEW INTELLIGENCE DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2024.118.2.74.78
The generative artificial intelligence, which is growing stronger by the hour, is already recognised as a force by all other forces, and what will happen when it enters the long-predicted strong stage on the way to the singularity. It is time for its creators to openly state their views, their goals, their aspirations in front of the whole world and to counter all sorts of fairy tales with this manifesto of the new intelligence.

From 19 to 21 March again at the most prestigious venue in the capital – Expocentre Fairgrounds – Cabex 2024, the 22nd International Exhibition of Cable and Wire Products, Equipment and Materials for their Production, took place at the most prestigious venue in Russia and the CIS. The main event of the first day was the International Scientific and Technical Conference named after Professor I.B.Peshkov "Cable Industry. Science. Technique. Production".
METHODS OF SYNCHRONISATIONIN COMMUNICATION NETWORKS DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2024.118.2.62.69
To synchronize the communication equipment it is necessary to build frequency-time support systems. Time synchronisation means simultaneous synchronisation of master and slave devices by frequency, phase and date. In existing networks the synchronisation method based on NTP/SNTP, RTR protocols and time signal distribution devices is widely used. However, there are many factors affecting the time transmission accuracy during synchronisation from specialised equipment installed together with synchronised communication equipment. Thispaper considers the relevance of application of integrated small-size time servers synchronised from GNSS, their advantages and disadvantages in comparison with classical methods of synchronisation.
INSPECTION OF OVERVOLTAGE PROTECTION DEVICES DURING OPERATION: WHAT, WHY, HOW AND WHEN. Part 1 DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2024.118.2.70.73
The paper deals with the surge protection devices inspection. In the first part of the paper the answers the questions were performed: what to check surge protection devices and why it is necessary to do it.
TRANSPORT HIGH-CAPACITY FOTS CAPACITIES. Part 1. Standardisation of 400G open line interfaces with interchangeable coherent optical transceiver modules DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2024.118.2.44.54
This series of papers presents international industry standards for 400G open line interfaces with interchangeable coherent optical transceiver modules (transceivers) for OTN/DWDM transport fiber-optic transmission systems (OTN/DWDM) (Part 1), evolution of generations of coherent digital signal processors (DSPs) for high-speed optical channels (wavelengths) in OTN/DWDM (Part 2), and evolution of technologies used to manufacture coherent DSPs for OTN/DWDM (Part 3).
OPTICAL STABILIZATION OF POWER AMPLIFIERS FOR FIBER-OPTIC COMMUNICATION LINES DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2024.118.2.56.61
Thepossibilityofopticalstabilization of the gain of a remotely pumped erbium fiber amplifier (ROPA) and a distributed SRS amplifier have been investigated. The basis of the optical stabilization systems under consideration is a linear spectral-selective resonator with generation at one of the operating wavelengths of the amplifier. It is shown that for the ROPA proposed system makes it possible to maintain the gain constant when changing temperature, number and power of channels. For a distributed SRS amplifier, a constant gain is provided when the number of channels changes, and constant output power when losses in the line change.
EFFICIENCY AND QUALITY OF FIBER-OPTIC CABLES WITH MULTICHANNEL FIBERS DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2024.118.2.30.34
System aspects of application of optical cables with multichannel fibers in perspective telecommunication networks are considered. The multichannel fibers efficiency with standard and increased diameter of optical sheath is estimated. Numerical values of spatial and spectral efficiency are given. The efficiency and quality of the cable are compared, and calculation of the values of the factors for ensuring the required quality is carried out.
