Weather radio beacon for the licence-exempt 27 MHz band DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.138.6.34.35
The paper describes a cost-effective solution for transmitting weather data using shortwave radio communications in the licence-exempt frequency band.
LDN – large-scale deterministic networks DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.138.6.18.26
This paper analyses a promising networking concept: Large-scale Deterministic Networks (LDN). It examines existing (TSN, DetNet, FlexE, DetWiFi) and promising (DIP, 5GDN) deterministic networking technologies. The basic principles of each technology are outlined, and an analysis is carried out of their potential applications in geographically distributed, heterogeneous network infrastructures operating under conditions of heavy traffic and stringent requirements for latency and data transmission reliability.
Fundamentals of non-IP network technology (based on ESTI materials). Part 2. Architecture, applications, challenges and prospects DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.138.6.76.79
In the second part of the paper, based on an analysis of TCP/IP problems and an overview of the ETSI ISG NIN specifications presented in the first part, practical aspects of non-IP network technology are considered: NIN architecture (Flexilink model), application scenarios, key advantages, open challenges and prospects for use in 5G/5G-Advanced, F5G/F6G and IoT. It is shown that the NIN approach reduces the overhead of headers and the computational complexity of packet processing by providing deterministic latency and streaming routing for 5G/5G Advanced, F5G/F6G, and industrial real time systems.
Geostationary satellite communication networks as a component of a country economy and scientific and technical potential DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.138.6.66.74
The role of future geostationary satellite networks (GSNs), linked to deeply integrated communication systems of all types is demonstrated. The growing importance of GSS is linked to the increasing volume and value of the data they are required to transmit, which correlates directly with the objectives of the "data economy", where all types of networks and operators interact closely with one another to provide a unified digital space for the end user. A scenario is presented for the potential application of a segment of ground-to-space networks based on GSS for the needs of emergency response and civil defence services.
Low-level operational testing of office information and telecommunications systems DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.138.6.36.40
The paper examines the specific features of low-level testing of in-house information and telecommunications systems during operation. The paper demonstrates the advisability of using a qualifying tester as the primary tool for initial diagnostics. It highlights the possibility and advisability of utilising measurement results in the administration of structured cabling systems.
High-capacity integrated packet-optical transport networks. Part 3. Options for managing data flows and implementing interchangeable transceiver modules DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.138.6.50.59
This series of papers examines integrated packet-optical solutions such as IPoDWDM/ IPoOLS/P-OTS (Packet-Optical Transport System) for data transmission over optical channels of OTN/DWDM systems with capacities ranging from 100 to 800 Gbit/s and above, as well as the management of an open network built using equipment from different manufacturers. The first part deals with the dynamic routing of packet-oriented connections over channels (wavelengths) of fiber optic transmission systems (FOTS), the second with the functional purpose of the network layers of an integrated packet-optical transport infrastructure, and the third with implementation options. The fourth part of the series is devoted to the standardisation and evolution of solutions for high-capacity integrated packet-optical transport networks.
Key trends in satellite communications over the past five years. Part 2. Digitizing and electrification of spacecraft , DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.138.6.60.65
Based on an analysis of materials from industry conferences, reports by analytical agencies and technical documentation, the key drivers of digital transformation in the orbital and ground segments of satellite communications systems (SCS) have been identified. Particular attention is paid to software-defined payloads (SDP) transition, an introduction of all-electric platforms, and the mini-GEO concept as an agile alternative to traditional terabit GEO satellites. This study examines the processes of deep integration of satellite infrastructure into the IT paradigm: the proliferation of service models, the deployment of orbital data centres, the application of AI to optimise network operations, and the emergence of a multifaceted cyber-threat landscape that is driving the transition to post-quantum cryptography. It is demonstrated that the CubeSat industry is evolving from a "low-cost access to space" model towards pragmatic specialisation for specific services. It is noted that CubeSat is transforming into a critical, software-defined, multi-orbital infrastructure of the digital economy.
Assessment of traffic handling quality at a switching node in the event of exceptional incidents DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.138.6.42.48
The paper examines the quality of service related to traffic arriving at a switching node operating under conditions of unusual events. A mathematical model representing a teletraffic system has been developed that adequately describers the key processes occurring at the switching node. The results of a study of the mathematical model obtained using simulation modeling are presented. Approximate analytical relationships for calculating traffic quality of service characteristics are proposed.
