Ray tracing in fifth-generation and subsequent-generation radio access networks. Part 3. Architecture of the software implementation of the SBR method in the MATLAB environment DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.137.5.22.28
This paper concludes a series on the topic of ray tracing in fifth-generation and subsequent-generation radio access networks. Using the MATLAB environment as an example, the architectural aspects of the software implementation of the ‘shooting and reflecting rays’ (SBR) method are examined. Analysis of the software modules has shown that the tracer implementation is based on component-oriented and multi-layered approaches. A description of each functional layer is provided, accompanied by relevant examples.

Experimental validation of a method for transmitting MP4 video files via a VHF channel using orthogonal basis functions DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.137.5.34.40
This paper presents the results of an experimental study of a data transmission system based on an orthogonal basis of finite functions: the transition from simulation modelling to full-scale transmission models. Two series of tests are described: the transmission of a video file between two PCs via sound cards using an audio cable, and transmission via VHF radio stations connected to the PCs via accessory sockets providing direct access to the low-frequency circuit. In all tests, bit-for-bit correct file recovery (CRC-32 and MD5 matches) was achieved at average effective rates of 539.5 and 516.0 bits/s. The choice of modulation signal bandwidth for the FM radio link is justified, the limitations of real-world links are analysed, and avenues for increasing the data rate are identified.

Key trends in satellite communications over the past five years. Part 1. Global trends DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.137.5.62.67
This report provides an overview of key trends in the development of satellite communications for the period 2021–2026, with an outlook to 2030. Based on an analysis of presentations at leading Russian industry conferences (SATCOMRUS, Satellite Russia) and reports from analytical agencies, global development trends have been identified and systematised. The role of technological drivers, regulatory initiatives, market consolidation, adoption of artificial intelligence and ground segment virtualisation is examined in detail. A comparative analysis has been carried out, points of convergence and divergence between global trends have been identified, and promising areas for the period up to 2030 have been defined.

Fundamentals of non-IP network technology (based on ESTI materials). Part 1. Problems of IP networks and document review DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.137.5.68.74
The paper discusses the concept of non IP networks, developed within the framework of ETSI ISG NIN, as one of the key areas of network technology development in the context of the massive Internet of Things, mission-critical applications and fixed-access networks of new generations. Based on the ETSI specifications GR/GS NIN 001–006 and GS NGP 013, the requirements for post IP architectures are systematized, and the basic principles of building user and control planes are highlighted.

Application of ML solutions in the RED method for monitoring performance DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.137.5.76.79
The paper addresses the problem of monitoring performance in distributed computing systems and telecommunication networks. It demonstrates the insufficient effectiveness of static service level objectives (SLO) under dynamic load conditions, which leads to "alert fatigue" among operations engineers. An approach utilizing the Isolation Forest algorithm for multivariate analysis of RED (Rate, Errors, Duration) methodology metrics is proposed. The practical part includes results of incident simulation modeling, demonstrating the proposed model’s ability to identify contextual anomalies with high precision, outperforming traditional threshold-based methods.

High-capacity integrated packet-optical transport networks Part 2. The functional roles of network layers in an integrated packet-optical transport infrastructure DOI: 10.22184/2070-8963.2026.137.5.50.60
This series of papers examines integrated packet-optical solutions such as IPoDWDM/ IPoOLS/P-OTS (Packet-Optical Transport System) for data transmission over optical channels of OTN/DWDM systems with capacities ranging from 100 to 800 Gbit/s and above, as well as the management of an open network built using equipment from different manufacturers. The first part deals with the dynamic routing of packet-oriented connections over channels (wavelengths) of fiber optic transmission systems (FOTS), the second with the functional purpose of the network layers of an integrated packet-optical transport infrastructure, and the third with implementation options. The fourth part of the series is devoted to the standardisation and evolution of solutions for high-capacity integrated packet-optical transport networks.
